RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with leaders and peers to implement bidding and contracting processes that are consistent across commodities and that result in verifiable savings, increased controllable spend, increased diverse supplier spend, and other supply chain improvements. Drive the bidding process to facilitate effective long-term supplier relationships and contract management.
- Evaluates, sources, establishes, and maintains a supplier base to assure lead time, pricing, quality and on-time & complete delivery of materials to meet production requirements.
- Analyze and understand Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) metrics and evaluate how procurement strategies impact overall costs, ensuring that purchasing decisions align with organizational financial objectives and contribute to profitability.
- Responsible for sourcing and purchasing supplies and steel from international suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with import regulations.
- Investigates and establishes cost savings, cost reductions, and value analysis opportunities in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.
- Negotiates contract terms and conditions, communicates quality requirements and provides consistent availability of quality goods to manufacturing.
- Develop our standard practices and compliance infrastructure, managing relationships for both internal clients and suppliers to aid in the strategic selection of suppliers, supplier diversity, and contract negotiations.
- Serve as the relationship manager for both internal clients and suppliers by seeking appropriate solutions for all sourcing needs, creating, reviewing, and negotiating contractual arrangements through thought leadership, subject matter specialization, and strategic advising.
- Train and ensure ERP utilization and integrity for demand forecasting, purchasing of raw material and planning of production.
- Develop overall supply chain strategy including plan for every part, material storage strategy, and overall inventory reduction.
- Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensures compliance.
- Maintains optimum inventory levels of all raw materials to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
- Select, develop, and train new team members.
- Manage the day-to-day tasks of the other procurement team members.
- Analyze current global events to determine their effect on FALK’s supply chain and take risk mitigation action if necessary.
- Performs risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
