What are FALK wall cladding sheets?
FALK wall cladding sheets or trapezoidal panels are façade elements that are rolled or formed from flat sheets of metal. Steel single-skin profiles are used to enhance the exterior of a building. Steel design profiles are profiled sheets specifically designed for use in both interior and exterior design. We manufacture our profiled sheets from (single sheets of) steel and can supply them in various shapes and sizes. As steel is a strong, durable and versatile material, design profiles can be applied in many different styles, from modern to traditional.
FALK wall cladding sheets and the FALK carrier system
A profiled steel sheet, especially those made from a single sheet, has no insulating properties. As such, sheets with a trapezoidal profile are often used in combination with FALK sandwich panels; the sandwich panel is first fixed to the rear construction, onto which the FALK profiles are attached. This system is also called the carrier system, which combines the advantages of both products and enhances the overall aesthetics of your building.
The FALK 1000 TR façade carrier, for example, is a great way to improve the sustainability of your building. The crowns of the trapezoidal panels act as spacers for the original façade – which means that FALK profiled sheets can be screwed directly onto the trapezoidal profile, eliminating the need for an omega profile.
FALK design profiles
FALK design profiles are engineered to enhance the overall aesthetics of your building. The profiles, made from flat steel sheets, are custom-made in our own forming shop.
The models we have developed all have distinctive profiles and are part of one of four families, each of which has three variations. These can be combined to create a unique look and feel for both new-build and renovation projects – especially since most of the design profiles can be applied both horizontally and vertically. Most of the profiles can also be used on both roofs and façades. FALK design profiles transform a building into a work of art. There are four families of design profiles:
FALK Cadance
The Cadance profile is a beautiful combination of the pyramid profile[41] and the trapezoidal profile. Up to three types of Cadance profiles can be used in combination with each other, resulting in a façade with a distinctive character that is sure to amaze.
The overall appearance of the building is largely determined by the choice of colours and finishes. For example, Seren Copper or FALK Black Matt will give the building a completely different character. Either way, you can be sure of a surprising result!
FALK Spike
The FALK Spike profile generates the most striking façades; the alternating points create a playful, dynamic effect. This effect can be tilted on its side simply by rotating the profiles. The ‘serration’ can therefore move from left to right and from right to left. A beautiful connecting profile has been developed for this model, which creates a seamless transition.
The FALK Spike creates a very bold, architectural statement where colour is key. We are here to help you achieve the desired effect.
FALK Pyramid
The FALK Pyramid is based on the classic pyramid profile; a point-shaped profile that can be applied to the façade as an architectural element. The FALK Pyramid design profile comes in three different versions that can be combined with each other, creating a pyramid pattern with alternating high and low profiles. Be sure to take a look at the model with 14mm pyramids; light hits the façade in a different way, creating a unique aesthetic.
FALK Block
The FALK Block profile – which we designed specifically for aesthetic purposes – features a recurring pattern of 90-degree angles. Available in three versions, the possibilities are endless. FALK Block is often used to achieve a specific look or ambience either inside or outside a building. It highlights the geometric shape to the fullest, creating a sense of tranquillity.
The steel design Block profile is available in all FALK coatings.
FALK rolled profiles
While the FALK design profiles are formed from flat steel, the rolled profiles are passed through a profiling line. As the steel moves through the line, the rollers shape it into the desired model. FALK has five types of rolled profiles – two corrugated profiles, two trapezoidal profiles and a Rabat profile.
FALK Profiled Sheets: The finish
FALK profiled sheets can be easily combined with our flashing solutions. As we manufacture our profiled sheets in our own forming shop, we can also help you to put the finishing touches to your building. So be sure to order your flashing at the same time!
Do I need special screws to attach accessories to a carrier panel?
The type of screw you need depends on the application. Always ask the supplier of the accessory what type of screw is best to use. Screws vary greatly in terms of tensile strength. If you are unsure, please contact our technical advisors on +31 (0)318 670 670.
