A future-focused project that elevates the standard

The Junction 20 Fuel Canopy along the M1 in Ravensdale, Co. Louth, Ireland, is a groundbreaking project designed to set new standards for service stations. Operated by local businessman Kieran Byrne and designed by Dundalk-based Van Dijk Architects, this Circle K station features a unique Glulam timber construction designed and fabricated by Glenfort Timber Engineering. The innovative use of timber instead of steel for the canopy and support structures creates a visually stunning and environmentally friendly landmark. As Sophie van Dijk at Van Dijk Architects describes: "We wanted to go with natural materials and shaped it so that it mimics the backdrop of the trees and the mountains.”

FALK’s contribution to the Junction 20 Fuel Canopy project enhances its distinctiveness and sustainability. We provided architectural insulated wall panels, specifically the FALK 1060 WB, with our exclusive Smoked Oak wood look finish. This coating is part of our FALK Specials line, which includes three additional wood-imitating finishes. The FALK 1060 WB, featuring a core thickness of 140 mm, delivers an impressive U-Value of 0.149, ensuring exceptional thermal insulation. To enhance the station's visual appeal, we also supplied the FALK Block 1 wood grain folded fascia panels, which wrap around the top of the timber canopy, seamlessly integrating with the innovative timber construction.

FALK is renowned for our customer-focused approach and commitment to sustainability. Our panels are engineered to meet rigorous performance standards, making them ideal for diverse construction projects. For instance, our CradleCore® technology ensures that the insulation core can be fully recycled at the end of its lifecycle, reducing environmental impact. By choosing FALK panels, projects like the Junction 20 Fuel Canopy achieve superior thermal performance, fire resistance, and durability while promoting sustainable building practices. This commitment to quality and sustainability not only benefits the environment but also ensures long-term satisfaction for our clients. Elevate your next project with FALK!
