Accessories
FALK accessories – flashing, attachment materials, sealing solutions and foam profile fillers – are the perfect way to add a high-quality finishing touch to your project.
It’s all in the details! And the same goes for your new roof or façade. Here at FALK, our team is ready to help you add the perfect finishing touches – from flashing and fasteners in the same colour as the sandwich panels to other accessories such as roof penetrations and compression straps.
At FALK, we are happy to talk through the entire project from start to finish, and we deliver projects as complete as possible. The level of finish is up to you.
When it comes to completing a project, sandwich panel screws are one of the most important accessories you’ll need. Along with flashing, sealing material and windows and doors, they are essential for the finished look. FALK can supply all these products in many colours and sizes.
Sandwich panels are attached using special panel fixing screws, which can be selected to suit each panel and type of construction. These screws are available in different lengths and colours and with different drill points to suit your needs. When attaching sandwich panels to roofs and façades, we recommend using a stainless steel (RVS SUS410) panel fixing screw. The required length will depend on the core thickness of the panel.
Flashing is secured with special flashing screws, which have been specially designed for securing steel and have a high pull-out strength.
For outdoor applications, such as a ridge or exterior corner, we recommend using the well-known Hi-Lo (self-drilling screw). This screw has a very good pull-out strength and is therefore resistant to strong gusts of wind and other weather conditions.
For indoor applications, a tek screw is an excellent solution; the head of this screw is slightly more subtle and is therefore less noticeable. Another major advantage of a tek screw is that it displaces the steel rather than drilling it, which can cause splinters. This allows the screw to fully embed itself into the steel and underlying material.
When insulation plays a key role in the construction of a building, good sealing is a must. A roof or façade made from sandwich panels has good insulation, but it is only really complete with the right sealing materials. For roofs, FALK offers its PE profile filler that can be used on either the ridge or gutter side of a panel. Rockwool blocks have been specially developed for insulating and sealing steeldeck.
For each profile we supply a customised foam profile filler that can be used on both the ridge and gutter side of a panel. The right filler (rockwool or PE) can help you to keep the heat in (or out) and save on energy costs.
Flashing is formed steel, which can be manufactured in many types, sizes and colours. FALK supplies flashing in a wide range of colours and coatings, which can also be applied to our sandwich panels and profiled sheets. Various steel thicknesses are also available; for example, thicker steel with high tensile strength can be used for parts that are exposed to high loads, while stainless steel can be used for parts that are exposed to moisture or corrosion.
When it comes to quality and appearance, the choice of coating is key. You usually decide on this when you select the sandwich panel. This is because flashing is used to finish corners, ridges and drip flashing, etc, which are often vulnerable areas. A high-quality coating is therefore essential.
Wood-look flashing
Besides our standard coating, we also offer a range of special wood-look coatings, which combine a beautiful wood-look finish with the advantages of steel!
FALK offers four natural wood-look finishes:
These coatings were selected in collaboration with several architects and added to the FALK range. When applied to flashing, they can be used to imitate wooden beams, slats or battens. Take, for example, the RhijnArt Keukens project in Kesteren: here, we used flashing in various forms - as wooden battens on the façade and as slats on the front of the building. The result? A beautiful solution that’s also very low maintenance!
In sandwich panel projects, the windows and doors need to match. Special finishing frames and frames are available, for example, that can be customised to suit your needs and are in exactly the required thickness. We supply interior and exterior doors and various types of windows.
Certain buildings, such as warehouses, stables and cold stores, often have to meet specific requirements, including in many cases a minimum insulation value. It is therefore particularly important that windows and doors do not have a negative impact on this. Thanks to the seamless connection and the insulating properties of the doors, the possibilities are endless. Get in touch to find out more!
Velux rooflights
Velux rooflights are ideal for combining with insulated roofing sheets. The matching finishing frames are unique to FALK and MontageMarkt – all of which are available in all three profiles that FALK stocks: the corrugated profile, the trapezoidal profile and the TR3+ profile. Installing a Velux rooflight in a sandwich roof is quick and easy with the right finishing frame in the right profile.
You can also choose between the Velux combi set in GGU (plastic) and GGL (wood) versions. For humid areas, we recommend the plastic option, as this is more resistant to moisture and has a protective PU layer. The wood version is also of a high quality and is very suitable for normal conditions.
Façade sandwich panels are the ideal carrier for your favourite accessories. Wood, solar panels, green walls and composite materials can all be mounted on our façade sandwich panels, especially when using the appropriate carrier panels. We are happy to advise on the maximum load and load-bearing capacity and on the best way to attach the panels and accessories.
"The standard interior coating for flat roof panels is FALK Off-White. As the panels are manufactured at FALK, you can choose from a wide range of coatings and colours. A popular alternative to FALK Off-White is FALK Reflective White, a reflective traffic white coating that helps save energy. This coating reflects up to 85% of light, so light can be used intelligently in the building: fewer light sources are needed than with a normal coating, which reduces energy costs and cuts down on carbon emissions. Find out more about FALK Reflective White here.
For a more industrial look, you can also go for a darker coating. For example, a FALK Black Matt coating was chosen for this shed. This gives the building a completely different character.
All coatings and colours are therefore available on request. Get in touch to find out about the possibilities!"
