Sandwich panels
Sandwich panels are the perfect solution for creating an inner wall in any type of building. They combine the finish and insulation in a single product.
Sandwich panels are often used as partition wall insulation in buildings because of their strength, durability and thermal insulation properties. These panels consist of two thin metal sheets with a box profile, with a PIR insulation core sandwiched in between.
Insulated wall panels are easy to install and can be used to erect inner walls quickly. They are also lightweight and require little maintenance. Sandwich panels are widely used in the construction of offices, warehouses, factories and other industrial buildings.
Insulated wall panels are prefabricated building elements consisting of two steel sheets with with a box profile on both sides and coated with FALK Off-White.
Sandwich panels from FALK Bouwsystemen are particularly suitable for creating an insulating wall inside your building – so you can design the building to suit your requirements. FALK insulating wall panels give you the freedom to create the perfect layout.
Insulating wall panels help to insulate your building – they keep the heat inside (or even outside) the room – and they contribute to sound insulation. FALK offers the following types of wall panels: the FALK 1170 WZ, the FALK 1140 KV and the FALK 1060 WB.
The KV (refrigeration) wall panel has been specially developed for cold rooms, freezer storage areas and other applications where insulation is crucial. These panels have a special joint that delivers an extremely high level of airtightness. The KV is also available in thicknesses up to 200mm, resulting in an insulation value of 9.40 m2K/W.
The FALK 1170 WZ has a visible mounting system, so the screws can still be seen after installation. This is not the case for the FALK 1060 WB, where the screws are integrated in the connection
Sandwich panels have the advantage of being quick and easy to install, and they have an excellent strength-to-weight ratio – making them an ideal solution for buildings where speed and efficiency are key. They are also corrosion and moisture resistant and come in a wide range of sizes and colours.
Put simply, inner walls made from insulated sandwich panels are an efficient and cost-effective solution for erecting partition walls in many types of buildings.
When it comes to choosing sandwich panels for your wall, the coating is an all-important factor. This is because insulated wall panels are often used in sectors where hygiene and quality are everything – from applications in cold stores and storage to other applications in the food industry. You also have to think about the coating when selecting panels for agricultural applications.
FALK offers four special coatings that are suitable for the most common situations:
The design requirements for an inner wall obviously vary depending on the application; a stable, for example, usually has fewer specifications than a house or office building. A standard FALK insulating wall panel has a box profile and is finished in FALK Off-White (approximately RAL 9002). With more than 100 different colours and a variety of profiles, the design possibilities are endless. Get in touch to find out more.
A sandwich panel for walls is inherently sustainable. However, we also offer our panels with the following sustainable options:
CradleCore®
Our panels for inner walls are also available with our sustainable solution CradleCore®. This comes with a certificate in the form of a take-back guarantee, meaning that the panel will be fully recycled at the end of its life cycle. This sustainable solution helps to reduce the environmental impact of the building.
FALK Reflective White
The FALK Reflective White coating can also deliver significant savings on energy costs; with this reflective coating, you can save up to 8.9% on your energy bill. This coating reflects up to 85% of light that hits it, which means that fewer light sources need to be installed in a room. Also, by making the most of natural daylight, significant savings can be made on energy costs and carbon emissions.
A partition is often used to divide a large space into several smaller rooms. This can be done in sheds and large utility buildings, but also in homes and offices. As mentioned above, the type of room and its requirements dictate the choice of partition. That said, in many cases an insulating (sound and heat) sandwich wall will tick all the boxes.
Good sound insulation is especially important in homes and offices. A sandwich panel reduces the transmission of sound by 27 decibels. Sound absorption can also be enhanced by adding accessories such as carpets or furniture to the room. The use of special sound-absorbing acoustic ceiling panels is also an effective way of achieving additional sound absorption.
For storage or cold rooms, the insulation value of a wall panel is once again a decisive factor. The FALK 1140 KV refrigeration panel is often chosen for these applications. Due to its high insulation value and excellent airtightness, this panel can also be used in other rooms where this type of insulation is also required.
Depending on the room in which a sandwich panel wall is used, it can be finished in any way – the possibilities are endless. A facing wall is a good example of this. It is also possible to finish an insulated wall with the right cladding.
FALK sandwich panels are available in almost every colour imaginable. In most cases, the exterior skin is finished with a high-quality coating manufactured by Tata Steel (Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® or Colorcoat Prisma®); the standard finish for the interior skin is FALK Off-White. This is similar to RAL 9002. But you can also select your own colour from the colour library. Discover all our colours on this page. Here you can also request a colour sample!
